
RAJSHAHI, April 19, 2026 (BSS) - The Indian Assistant High Commissioner
appointed in Rajshahi, Manoj Kumar, paid a courtesy call on Professor Faridul
Islam, Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University, today.
During the meeting in the conference room of the Administration Building, the
Vice-Chancellor briefed the Assistant High Commissioner about the education
and research activities of Rajshahi University.
They discussed RU's education and research activities and mutual cooperation
for their development.
The Assistant High Commissioner expressed interest in providing assistance
for the academic development of RU's Sanskrit Department through India's
Sanskrit University.
They also discussed expediting cooperation under the Memorandum of
Understanding already signed between RU and India's Jamia Millia Islamia.
The Assistant High Commissioner presented a publication to the Vice-
Chancellor, and the Vice-Chancellor presented a commemorative crest to the
Assistant High Commissioner.
Present at the meeting were Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor
Mohammad Main Uddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Farid Uddin
Khan, Treasurer Professor Md. Motiar Rahman, Registrar Professor Iftikharul
Alam Masud, Chair of the Sanskrit Department Professor Hosne Ara Arzu and
other concerned officials.
Meanwhile, Nepalese students studying at Rajshahi University (RU) paid a
courtesy call on Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Faridul Islam this afternoon.
During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor inquired about their various needs
while staying at RU. He instructed the concerned authorities to ensure
relevant facilities for the students, including accommodation at the
International Dormitory.
Among others, Warden of the Shaheed Mir Abdul Quayyum International Dormitory
Professor Abu Bakar Prang was present during the meeting.
