IGP assures permanent police outpost at KUET campus

KHULNA, April 25, 2026 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police Ali Hossain Fakir today assured that a permanent police outpost will be established at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) to strengthen law and order on the campus and surrounding areas.

The assurance came during a courtesy meeting with KUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Masud on the sidelines of a "Public Order Management Training" programme organised by Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP).

Police personnel ranging from constable to sub-inspector (armed and unarmed) participated in the training programme.

During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on the overall law and order situation at KUET and its adjacent areas. The VC highlighted the existing situation and formally requested the establishment of a permanent police outpost on the campus.

In response, the IGP assured that prompt steps would be taken and directed KMP Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan to initiate necessary measures in this regard.

KMP Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan, Khulna Range DIG Md Rezaul Haque, Commandant (DIG) of Khulna Police Training Centre Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan and other senior officials were present at the event.
