175 held in DMP Mirpur Division as crackdown on crime, drugs and juvenile gangs

DHAKA, May 13, 2026 (BSS) — A total of 175 people, including members of juvenile gangs, were arrested during a special anti-crime drive conducted by Mirpur Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) aimed at ensuring public safety and curbing drug trafficking, extortion and terrorism.

According to Mirpur Division sources, the daylong operation was carried out on Tuesday in several crime-prone areas under the division. 

During the raids, police also recovered various narcotics and locally made weapons from the possession of the accused.

Among those arrested, 50 were detained from Mirpur Model Police Station area, 24 from Pallabi, 15 from Kafrul, 16 from Shah Ali, 44 from Darus Salam, 10 from Bhashantek and 16 from Rupnagar police station areas.

Police said the arrested individuals have been sent to the court.
