DHAKA, May 21, 2026 (BSS) - Teachers working at private vocational educational institutions across the country are now eligible to apply for workplace transfers under certain conditions following a new government order issued yesterday.

According to the order signed by Vocational and Madrasah Education Division Secretary Md Daud Mia, teachers will be allowed to apply for transfers after completing two years at their current workplace.

A teacher will be permitted to seek transfer a maximum of three times during his or her entire career, the order said.

The transfer process will be conducted through automated software.

Under the new rules, a maximum of two teachers from a single institution will be allowed to apply for transfer each year.

Applications will be considered based on available vacancies and other criteria, including gender, spouse's workplace and seniority.

However, the government will retain the authority to transfer any teacher at any time in the public interest, according to the notification.
