Biman completes successful pre-Hajj flights operation

DHAKA, May 21, 2026 (BSS) - Biman Bangladesh Airlines today successfully completed its pre-Hajj flight operations for 2026 after transporting 38,680 
pilgrims to Saudi Arabia through 98 dedicated flights ahead of the holy Hajj.

The formal conclusion of the pre-Hajj operations came this evening with the departure of the final Hajj flight BG-335 carrying 215 pilgrims from Hazrat 
Shahjalal International Airport to Jeddah at 6:10pm, according to a Biman's press release.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had officially inaugurated the "Hajj Flight-2026" operations on April 18 this year.

Besides transporting Biman passengers, the national flag carrier also provided ground handling and other passenger services for a total of 76,197 
passengers in Dhaka, including those travelling by Saudia and Flynas.

In collaboration with ACI Limited and BRAC Bank PLC, Biman distributed special "Hajj Care Packs" among pilgrims during the operations.

The airline said more than a thousand officers and employees worked tirelessly to ensure smooth, safe and comfortable travel for the pilgrims.
