100 held in special drives against crime, drugs, extortion in Tejgaon

DHAKA, May 21, 2026 (BSS) - As part of an ongoing crackdown to ensure public safety and curb drugs, extortion, and terrorism, the Tejgaon Division of the 
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 100 individuals during special drives conducted across several crime-prone areas.

According to sources from the Tejgaon Division, the daylong operation was carried out on Wednesday in different parts of the division. 

During the operation, law enforcers also recovered various narcotics and locally made weapons from the possession of the arrested individuals.

The arrestees included alleged members of juvenile gangs and other criminal groups.

The breakdown of arrests includes nine from Tejgaon Police Station, 13 from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, 38 from Mohammadpur Police Station, 15 
from Adabor Police Station, 12 from Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station, and 13 from Hatirjheel Police Station.

Police said the arrested individuals have been sent to the concerned courts for legal proceedings.
