Kalshi slum fire under control

DHAKA, May 25, 2026 (BSS) - A fire that broke out at the Kalshi slum in the capital has been brought under control.

Fifteen units of the Fire Service worked to contain the blaze and succeeded in bringing it under control at 9:35 pm.

The Fire Service and Civil Defence received reports of the fire at the Kalshi slum in Mirpur around 7:30 pm today.

Anwarul Islam, an official of Fire Service headquarters, said initially information regarding the cause of the fire, the extent of damage, or any casualties are yet to be known.
