
DHAKA, June 02, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 77 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded 77 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today," a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
"Out of the 77 fresh cases, 39 were hospitalised in Barishal division, five in Chattogram division, four in Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 12 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 24 in Khulna division and one in Mymensingh division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year claimed six lives and inflicted 3,384 people.
The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.
Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
