Coast Guard seizes 1,400 liters of fuel oil in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 2, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Coast Guard has confiscated approximately 1,400 liters of fuel oil during a raid conducted in Patenga area of the port city. 
 
Lieutenant Commander Suman Al Mukit, the media officer for the Bangladesh Coast Guard East Zone, provided this information in a press release on Tuesday (June 2). He stated that the fuel oil was seized from the Patenga No. 9 ghat area on Monday afternoon. The Coast Guard reported that the estimated market value of the confiscated fuel oil is around TK 1.61 lakh. 
 
The Coast Guard personnel said that this fuel oil, which was being transported illegally for sale, was seized during a special operation on Monday, when two engine-powered wooden boats were inspected. 

The smugglers escaped upon noticing the presence of the team. Consequently, no arrests were made. 

Coast Guard Eastern Zone Lieutenant Commander (Media) Suman Al Mukit mentioned that further legal proceedings concerning the seized fuel oil and boats are currently underway. 

The Coast Guard intends to continue such operations in future to combat smuggling.
