IGP asks police to ensure services through good conduct

DHAKA, June 04, 2026 (BSS)- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir has asked police personnel to provide better policing services to public through good behavior. 

He said this while visiting the River Police Headquarters in the capital today. 

The IGP highly praised the active presence and dedicated service of the River Police in ensuring the safety of passengers traveling by waterways during the last Eid-ul-Azha. 

He also commended the River Police for their role in maintaining overall security on the country's river routes, protecting aquatic resources, conserving hilsa and other fishery resources, and combating piracy.

The IGP provided policy guidance on further enhancing the capabilities of the River Police through the use of technology and ensuring better public services.

Senior police officers were present.
