Police unearthed clue of double murder in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 15, 2026 (BSS)- Chattogram district police announced that they have unearthed the clue of murder of a woman and her teenage daughter in Anwara, Chattogram occurred on June 13.
 
The mother and her daughter fell victim of suspected Limon Barua as they witnessed the killer during trying to steal loan related documents, said SP Masud Alam at a press conference at his office here today.

Killier Limon Barua alias Tejpriya has been taken into custody and based on his statement police recovered the knife used in the murder.

Annie Barua, 40, and her daughter Priyonti Barua, 16, were stabbed to death in their residence at Chenamoti Barua Para area of Paraikora union in the night on June 13 last.
 
Annie's five-year-old son Piash Barua also suffered stab wounds during the attack. 

Police investigation found that Limon entered in the house in the midnight on the rear side of the house with a knife, intending to steal a stamp belonging to the victim's husband Sujan Barua. 

When Annie became exited and yelled out after noticing him, Limon stabbed her. Hearing her mother's screaming Priyonti and Piash rushed to the scene and came under attack of the assailant.

During initial questioning, the suspect admitted his role in the double murders and injuring other, the SP said.

Police apprehended Limon on June 14 from Patiya.

Police recovered Annie's mobile phone from a different location, police said.
