
DHAKA, June 15, 2026 (BSS) - The Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has
allocated Taka 12.90 lakh for the routine maintenance of 129 wash blocks in
69 government primary schools across the country under the Fourth Primary
Education Development Programme (PEDP-4).
The information was disclosed in a recent office order signed by DPE Deputy
Director (Finance) H M Abul Bashar.
According to the order, the allocation and expenditure approval have been
granted in favor of the respective Upazila and Thana Education Officers under
the PEDP-4 sub-component "Maintenance and Repairs" for the fiscal year 2025-
26.
The total amount of Taka 12 lakh 90 thousand will be spent from the
Government of Bangladesh (GOB) fund and the RPA (GOB) source.
The order states that under no circumstances can expenditure exceed the
allocated amount and no advance withdrawal of funds will be allowed.
All expenditures must be carried out in accordance with government financial
rules and regulations, and all vouchers must be preserved.
The order also instructs that expenditure information must be entered into
the DPE's web-based computerized accounting system within seven days.
Otherwise, future allocations may be disrupted, it said.
The order further stated that 40 percent of the total expenditure must be met
from the GOB source and 60 percent from the RPA (GOB) source through a single
bill.
