DHAKA, June 16, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Primary and Mass Education
Bobby Hajjaj today said that no obstacle or negative campaign will be allowed
against ongoing government initiatives aimed at nurturing the multifaceted
talents of students under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the Primary
Education Medal Competition 2026, featuring cultural events, scouting
(Cubbing) activities and subject-based quiz competitions, and award
distribution ceremony held at the Directorate of Primary Education in the
capital's Mirpur area.

Congratulating the winners of the national-level competitions, the state
minister said around 21 million students participated in this year's events,
including more than 10 million boys and over 10 million girls.

He said such large-scale participation reflects the immense talent and
potential of children across the country.

He further said that students skilled in music should receive advanced
training from their school level while those efficient in debate should be
given opportunities to become world-class debaters.

Similarly, students interested in sports such as cricket, football, tennis,
badminton and indigenous games should be supported to become international-
level athletes.

Bobby Hajjaj said the government is working to build an education system
where students are not limited to textbook learning, but are also encouraged
to develop their skills in music, dance, recitation, debate, science,
mathematics, sports and other creative activities.

After the competition, the state minister distributed prizes among the
winners.

Secretary to the Ministry Md. Sakhawat Hossain and Director General of the
Directorate of Primary Education Shahina Ferdousi, among others, also
attended the event.
