DMP arrests 3 AL leaders, workers in city

DHAKA, June 27, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested three leaders and workers of Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies from the city's different areas as the interim government banned all activities Of the party following the July Mass uprising.

Police arrested them during the last 24 hours through separate operations in the city, according to a press release issued by the media and public relations division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) here today.

It said such operations will be continued in the future to maintain law and order in the city.

Three police stations of the DMP conducted the drives in the city to arrest the members of AL and its affiliated bodies, the DMP release said.

Among the arrested, one each was arrested from Mohammadpur, Mirpur and Banani Police station in the capital, it said, adding, "Legal procedure is underway against them."
