DHAKA, June 28, 2026 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton today said the government is working to ensure that every child across the country receives Vitamin A Plus capsules under the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign-2026.

“The government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is a people's government. The DNCC has been providing various public services in the interest of the people and will continue to do so,” he said while speaking at the inauguration of the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign-2026 at Ershad Field in Korail, Banani, in the capital.

Prime Minister's Private Secretary Abdur Rahman Sani attended the programme as the special guest and formally inaugurated the campaign by administering Vitamin A Plus capsules to children.

The DNCC administrator said a total of 1,905 permanent and 10,891 temporary centres have been set up across the corporation's 54 wards under its 10 zones to administer the capsules. The campaign will continue for the next three days.

He said the government has taken special initiatives to ensure that every child in districts, upazilas, cities, neighbourhoods and villages receives the Vitamin A Plus capsule. All eligible children under the DNCC jurisdiction will be covered, he added, urging parents to contact the city corporation if necessary.

Shafiqul Islam Khan said the DNCC had achieved notable success in the measles-rubella vaccination campaign and expressed hope that similar success would be achieved in other public service programmes.
Referring to the ongoing monsoon season, he urged city residents to help prevent dengue by regularly cleaning stagnant water from their homes, rooftops, gardens and surrounding areas.

The DNCC administrator also said regular cleanliness drives are being carried out across the city and sought the cooperation of residents to make the campaign successful.
