Mirpur division named DMP's best crime unit for June

DHAKA, July 13, 2026 (BSS) - The Mirpur Division has been recognised as the best crime division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for June 2026, while Pallabi Police Station secured the top position among all police stations during the force's monthly crime review meeting.

DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, handed over awards to police officers in different categories today in recognition of their outstanding performance in maintaining law and order, crime prevention and ensuring public safety. 

The awards were presented at the monthly crime review meeting held at the DMP Headquarters in the capital.

Among police stations, Pallabi Police Station ranked first, followed by Turag Police Station in second place and Shahjahanpur Police Station in third.

In the Assistant Commissioner category, AC of Demra Zone Md. Shamim Hossain secured first place, while AC of Mohammadpur Zone Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, came second.

Sub Inspector (SI) Tarun Kumar of Adabor Police Station and SI Md. Saiful Islam of Pallabi Police Station were named the first and second best sub-inspectors respectively. 

Among assistant sub-inspectors, ASI Md. Akhtaruzzaman Mondal Palash of Jatrabari Police Station ranked first, while ASI Md. Anarul Islam of Mirpur Police Station secured second place.

The Detective Branch's Lalbagh Division was recognised as the best DB unit, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Fazlul Karim, of the DB Wari Zonal Team was named the best team leader.

In the traffic category, Traffic Mirpur Division emerged as the best traffic division. 

Sergeant Md. Delowar Hossain of Darussalam Traffic Zone was named the best traffic sergeant, while Sergeant Md. Ashraful Islam of Gulshan Traffic Zone secured second place.

The meeting was attended by senior DMP officials, including additional police commissioners, joint police commissioners, deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, officers-in-charge of all police stations and other police officers.
