Verdict in graft case against SK Sur on July 28

DHAKA, July 15, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today set July 28 for pronouncing judgment in a case filed against former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank SK Sur Chowdhury by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for not filing a wealth statement.

Judge Ayesha Nasrin of Dhaka Special Judge Court-2 passed the order as the prosecution and defence concluded their arguments in the case today.

The court on November 06, 2025, framed charges in the case.

The ACC Deputy Director, Nazmul Hussain, on December 23, 2024, filed the case against Chowdhury for failing to submit the wealth statement within 21 working days of receiving its notice to do so.

The anti-graft body on August 25, 2025, framed the charge-sheet in the case.
