DHAKA, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested 12 people in a special operation in the Hazaribagh area of the capital, as part of an ongoing drive against crime.

Hazaribagh Police Station carried out the operation on Monday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said in a statement.

It said the arrestees are Md Himel, Md Jabed (50), Md Mahin (18), Abu Bakar (25), Md Khokon (55), Md Kabir (23), Md Salauddin (30), Md Sagar (28), Omar Farooq (30), Md Ibrahim Khalil (22), Md Enamul (28) and Md Saiful Islam (24).

According to police, those arrested include suspects wanted in regular criminal cases as well as individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities. 

The operation was conducted to maintain law and order in the area, and similar drives will continue, the statement said.
