
RANGAMATI, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - Local Member of Parliament Dipen Dewan today
distributed relief assistance on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman
among families affected by landslides and floods in Rajasthali upazila of the
district.
Beginning around 11.00 am, Dipen Dewan visited several flood-and landslide-
hit areas in the upazila to assess the damage before distributing relief
materials to affected families at the Rajasthali Upazila Model Mosque
premises.
The relief distribution programme was chaired by Rajasthali Upazila Nirbahi
Officer (UNO) Yousuf Hasan. Among others present were Rangamati district BNP
Senior Joint Secretary Md. Ali Babar, Rajasthali Upazila BNP President Master
Khalilur Rahman Sheikh, District Sramik Dal President Momtaz Mia and Jiku
Kumar Dey, Assistant Organising Secretary of the Hindu-Buddhist-Christian
Welfare Unity Front.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Dipen Dewan said the government has attached the
highest priority to post-flood rehabilitation efforts. He said the
government's objective is to restore normalcy in the lives of the affected
people and ensure continued support for them.
He added that, alongside rehabilitation, necessary measures would be taken to
rebuild damaged infrastructure and help the agricultural sector recover from
flood-related losses. He also assured that all affected families would
receive government assistance.
