Kuddus appointed Ctg Range DIG, Hasan Mymensingh Range DIG

DHAKA, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - The government today appointed Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury and Mohammad Zahidul Hasan as deputy inspectors general (DIGs) of police for Chattogram and Mymensingh ranges, respectively.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification in this regard today.

Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury, commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) has been appointed as DIG of Chattogram Range, while Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan has been posted as DIG of Mymensingh Range, said the notification. 

The notification also appointed DIG at Police Headquarters Sarwar Murshed Shamim as commissioner of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP).

The order was issued in the public interest and takes immediate effect, the notification said.
