DHAKA, Sept 8, 2026 (BSS) - Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman today distributed prizes to

the winners of the 2nd Chief of Army Staff (CAS) Cup Professional Golf Tournament 2026 at the

Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka Cantonment.

As the chief guest at the closing ceremony, the Army Chief handed over trophies and awards to the

champions and runners-up in the professional and amateur categories, according to an ISPR release

tonight.

Speaking on the occasion, General Waker-Uz-Zaman expressed hope that such competitions would

contribute to the overall development of golf in the country.

He also thanked all those involved in organising the tournament.

In the professional category, Mohammad Siddikur Rahman clinched the championship title, while Akbar

Hossain finished as runner-up. In the amateur category, Md Sharif Hossain emerged as champion.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General, Senior Vice President and Joint Secretary of

the Bangladesh Golf Federation, President and Secretary General of the Bangladesh Professional

Golfers' Association, senior military officials, invited guests, officials of the Kurmitola Golf

Club and media representatives.

The tournament is expected to contribute to the promotion and development of professional golf in

Bangladesh, the ISPR release added.
