DHAKA, April 10, 2025 (BSS)- Pacer Shoriful Islam today registered his
career-best figure in List A cricket as he claimed 6-40 for Legends of
Rupganj to help his side secure a 10-run victory on DLS method in a Dhaka
Premier League (DPL) match against Brothers Union at Sher-e-Bangla National
Cricket Stadium in the capital's Mirpur area.

Shoriful's match-winning effort, however, kept Rupganj's aspiration to move
to the Super Six alive.

Being sent to bat first, Legends of Rupganj posted a hefty 277-9 but Brothers
threatened to take the game away with a calculative approach. However,
Shoriful broke through every time in crucial moments to keep the side in the
hunt. Due to his intervention, Brothers were unable to punch the final kick
and reached 260-9 in 48.4 overs before rain intervened. In DLS calculation,
they were still 10 runs from the required run.

Soumya Sarkar made team-high 80 for Rupganj while Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored
59. The duo shared 97-run for the third wicket after Rupganj lost the first
two wickets cheaply.

Later, Jaker Ali Anik hit 44 to push the side to safety.

Yeasin Araft Mishu scalped 3-56 for Brothers while Captain Myshukur Rahman
Real and Jayed Ullah took two wickets apiece.

Shoriful struck twice in just the third over to remove opener Bishal
Chowdhudry and Mizanur Rahman for duck but Brothers replied strongly with
Mahfijul Islam Robin and Aich Mollah who shared 88 runs for the third wicket.
Shoriful broke the partnership to bring the side back in the contest with the
wicket of Aich Mollah who added 47 runs.

But Myshukur posed a threat with 32 ball-46 before Shoriful came up again
with fire to dismiss him. Mahedi Hasan got the better of Mahfizul for 76
before Shoriful strangled Brothers further with some quick wickets.
