DHAKA, May 20, 2025 (BSS)-Forward Rakib Hossain slammed a brilliant hat-trick as star-studded Bashundhara Kings registered an overwhelming 7-2 goal victory over Fakirerpool Young Men's Club in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur today (Tuesday).

Apart from Rakib's hat-trick with four goals in the 22nd, 68th, 77th and 77th minutes, foreign recruit Asror Gavurov (36th), forwards Foysal Ahmed Fahim(38th) and Rafiqul Islam (47th) scored one goal each for Kings who led the first half by 3-1 goals.

Midfielder Shanto Tudo (33rd) and defender Titas Das (52nd) netted one goal apiece for Fakirerpool.

The day's win saw Bashundhara Kings move to second position in the league table with 28 points from 16 matches while Fakirerpool, standing in eighth position in the league table, remained with their previous collection of 16 points playing the same number of matches.

Meanwhile, Fortis Football Club will play against Bangladesh Police Football Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena practice ground while Abahani Limited, Dhaka face Chittagong Abahani Limited at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla tomorrow (Wednesday).
