Kings finish third in BPL

DHAKA, May 27, 2025 (BSS)- Forward Sheikh Morsalin scored a brilliant hat-trick saw Bashundhara Kings finished third position in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football as they came from behind beat Dhaka Wanderers Club by an exciting 5-3 goals held at Bashundhara Kings arena in the capital today (Tuesday).

Apart from Morsalin hat-trick with three goals in the match, forwards Rakib Hossain and Md Rabby Hossen Rahul supported him with a lone goal apiece for Kings who led the first half by 3-1 goals.

Midfielders Md Sadik Ahmed and Shahidul Islam Sumon, and forward Md Manzurul Karim netted a lone goal for Dhaka Wanderers.

Sadik opened an account scoring the first goal for Wandereers in the 7th minute and Rakib restored the parity for Kings in the 41st minute of the match.

Morsalin doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Kings in the 42nd minute and further widened the margin scoring his second and third goal for Kings in the 45+4th minute.

After the breather, Shahidul pulled one back scoring the second goal for Wanderers in the 49th minute while Morsalin completed his hat-trick scoring the fourth goal for Kings in the 66th minute of the match.

Rabby scored the fifth goal for Kings in the 81st minute while Manzurul reduced the margin scoring the third goal for Wanderers in the 90+4th minute of the match.

With the day’s win, Kings secured 32 points from 18 matches while Wanderers who earlier relegated from the league, ninth position with the points playing the same number of matches.  

The lone last round match of the league between Chittagong Abahani and Fortis Football Club will be held at district stadium in Mymensingh on Thursday (May 29).
