DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Men's Emerging team put them on top of the visiting South African Emerging side in the second and final four-day game after the Day 2 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

After being wrapped up for 371 in their first innings, Bangladesh reduced South Africa to 152-6 at stumps. With four wickets at hands, South Africa are still trailing by 219 runs.

South Africa opener Muhammad Manack was the only one to put some resistance in the face of disciplined bowling of Bangladesh bowlers. He top-scored for the side with 54 runs.

Ripon Mondol and Rakibul Hasan took two wickets apiece to wreck havoc on South African batters. Mahedi Hasan and Naeem Ahmed picked up one wicket each.

Resuming the day 2 at 242-7, Bangladesh lower order demonstrated a grit and resilience to keep the side's nose ahead.

Ripon Mondol and Mehedi Hasan added 77 runs for the ninth wicket stand to ensure that the side will end on high. Ripon was out for 43 but Mehdi was not out on 44.

South African bowlers also were erratic, conceding 43 runs through extras.

Earlier on Day 1, opener Iftekhar Hossain Ifti hammered 109 and Moin Khan made 91. Their effort kept Bangladeshi rolling amid the middle order collapse.
