Police handball club, Bandarban reach last four

DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Police Handball Club and Bandarban District Sports Association (DSA) reached last four spot in the 35th National Men's Handball competition held at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital today (Wednesday).

In the second phase, Bangladesh Police reached semifinal as the top of the group C while Bandarban DSA confirmed the semifinal as group group D champions by virtue of better goal difference than Chapainawabganj DSA after the two teams equally secured 13 points each.

Earlier, defending champions Bangladesh Ansar and VDP and last year's runners-up Border Guard Bangladesh confirmed the semifinals from the first phase. 

Group A champions Bangladesh Ansar will take on group D champions Bandarban DSA in the first semifinal while B group champions BGB meet C group champions Bangladesh Police Handball Club in the second semis. Both the semifinals will be held on Friday (May 30) at the same venue. The final of the competition is slated for May 31. 
 
Meanwhile in day's group phase matches, Sunamganj DSA beat Bagerhat DSA by 36-17 gals after leading the first half by 14-11 goals, Narayanganj DSA defeated Bogura DSA by 26-13 goals after dominating the first half by 12-5 goals, Bangladesh Police Handball Club outclassed Sunamganj DSA by 44-8 goals after leading the first half by 23-6 goals, Bandarban DSA beat Kushtia DSA by 24-20 goals after leading the first half by 11-10 goals,

Panchagarh DSA defeated Narail DSA by 45-20 goals after dominating the first half by 21-9 goals, Sunamganj DSA overpowered Bagerhat DSA by 36-17 goals after leading the first half by 14-11 goals and Kushtia DSA outclassed Dinajpur DSA by 37-14 goals after leading the first half by 24-9 goals.
