DHAKA, Sept 13, 2025 (BSS)- A day-long baseball training camp was held today at the Chattogram Physical Education College in the port city of Chattogram to promote baseball, said a press release.

This camp was successfully organized on the college premises under the management of Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association (BBSA) and with the active cooperation of Chattogram Government Physical Education College.

Nearly fifty freshmen and seniors of the college spontaneously participated in this day-long camp. The main objective of the training was to give the participants an idea about the fundamental aspects of baseball.

Coaches placed special emphasis on the basic rules of baseball, player skill development, proper warm-up methods, and tactical awareness during the camp.

BBSA and development committee chairman Dr. Anupam Hossain, its general secretary Talha Zubayer, joint secretary Imam Hossain Sohag, member Tania Akter and talented national team players Johnny Haque and Kamal Hossain were present to conduct the camp.

In addition, Chattogram Government Physical Education College acting principal S.M. Gias Uddin Babar and college lecturers Khairul Islam and Chanchal Biswas were present during the camp and provided overall support.

Officials of the BBSA said that this camp is an important part of the continuous development plan that has been adopted to spread baseball nationwide. Through this, students of Chattogram Government Physical Education College will be able to emerge as skilled baseball coaches through higher training in the future and will play a helpful role in the spread of the game.

BBSA believes that this initiative will not stop here. It is determined to increase the popularity of baseball by organizing similar training camps in other educational institutions in the country in the future.
