DHAKA, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh U-17 national football team today (Monday) held their second day's training session at the Kelaniya Football Complex in Colombo, Sri Lanka, ahead of the SAFF U-17 Championship campaign.

After the day's ground training in the morning, the booters took part in a swimming session at the team hotel, according to a message received here from Bangladesh Football Federation.

The 10th edition of the SAFF U-17 Championship began today (Monday) with an opening match between Nepal and Sri Lanka. The Bangladesh team and management were scheduled to attend the match to watch their group rivals in action.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh midfielder Kamal Mridha said in a video message that they are not taking Nepal and Sri Lanka lightly. He added their aim is to reach the semifinals by beating both group rivals.

Kamal also mentioned that although the weather in Sri Lanka is slightly hotter than in Bangladesh, the players have already adapted to the conditions.

Team's assistant coach Jahangir Alam Mintu said they would finalise their strategy after watching Nepal and Sri Lanka's opening match. He informed that all players are fit at the moment.

Bangladesh will start their campaign against Nepal on September 18 and play their last group match against Sri Lanka on September 21.
