Final round of JFA U-14 Women's Development programme begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS)- The final round of new edition of JFA U-14 Women's Development programmes kick-off at Muktijuddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi tomorrow (Tuesday) with two matches are billed on the opening day.

Rajshahi district take on Rangpur district in the first match at 2.30 pm while Mymensingh district meet Khagrachari district in the second match of the opening day's fixture at 4.30 pm. 

The final round was supposed to feature the champions of the six venues, hosts Rajshahi and the best runner-up. Third team in of Rangamati zone is going to taking part in the final round instead of host venue champions and host Khagrachari district in this venue.

In this regards, a press conference was held at Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Bhaban today (Monday).

BFF women's wining chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron said in the Rangamati zone, champions and hosts Rangamati district is not participating in the final round. Venue runners-up Cox's Bazar will also not participate in the final round. So the third team in this zone, Khagrachari will play in the final round instead Rangamati.

Eight district teams, split into two groups, will take part in the final round.

After the group phase matches, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals on September 23 while the final is slated for September 25.

The participating district teams in the final round:

Group A - Rajshahi, Khagrachari, Mymensingh and Rangpur districts.

Group B - Thakurgaon, Chapai Nawabgqanj, Khulna and Manikganj districts.  

Earlier, the preliminary round of the JFA U-14 Women's Development programme held last month with the participation of forty two teams across the country marking the Festival of Youth 2025.
