Chess team depart for Kazakhstan tomorrow

DHAKA, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS)- The Bangladesh team will depart for Kazakhstan tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon to take part in the FIDE World Cadet Chess Championships which begins from Thursday (Sept 18)  in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Five players will participate in different age groups, said a press release issued today. 

They are Safayet Kibria Azaan in the open U-12 group, Sidratul Muntaha Nafi in the girls U-12 group, Farsat Hossain Ayyaan in the open U-10 group, woman candidate master Warisa Haider in the girls U-10 group and Azaan Mahmood in the open U-8 group. 

Bangladesh Chess Federation ad-hoc committee member and FIDE arbiter Mohammad Rahat Hossain will accompany the team as the head of delegate.
