DHAKA, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS)-The final phase of 49th National Chess Championship will kick off on Thursday (Sept 18) at Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) hall room.

Before the competition, the draw and technical meeting of the participating players will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at the playing venue.

A total of fourteen players will participate in Championship which will be held in a round-robin league format.

They are FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Ansar, International Master Abu Safian Shakil, FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid of Bangladesh Army, International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy, FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain of Bangladesh Navy, FIDE Master Mohammad Javed of Bangladesh Navy, Mohammed Shaker Ullah of Cox’s Bazar, Candidate Master Md. Abu Hanif of Sadharan Bima Corporation, FIDE Master Khandaker Aminul Islam and Anata Choudhurya.

Grand Master Niaz Murshed of Bangladesh Ansar, last year's champion International Master Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Navy, last year's runner-up International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh Ansar will participate directly in the meet, organized by BCF.
