Bangladesh suffer first defeat

DHAKA, Nov 19, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh suffered their first defeat in the 
ongoing Women's Kabaddi World Cup when they lost to defending champions India 
by 43-18 points in their third match held at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor 
Stadium at Mirpur today (Wednesday).

India began to dominate over Bangladesh in the beginning of the match and 
took 29-8 after the first half. Even after the break, their dominance 
continued till the final whistle.

The hosts could not stand up to the Women's World Cup champions. Rupali 
Akter's team was under pressure throughout the match against India, who were 
ahead in all categories - physique, technique and tactics.

The hosts will face Thailand in the fourth match on November 22. A win in 
that match will almost secure a semi-final berth for the girls of red and 
greens. India will face Germany in their next match.

Earlier, Bangladesh, who started the World Cup campaign by beating Uganda 42-
22 points in their group opening match and then defeated Germany 57-27 points 
in their second match.
