MOUNT MAUNGANUI, New Zealand, Dec 19, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Devon Conway brought up his second Test double-century early on the second morning of the third Test against the West Indies at Mount Maunganui.

The 34-year-old cut seamer Jayden Seales to the point boundary to bring up his 200 in 316 balls, hitting 28 fours.

New Zealand were 372-2 midway through the morning session on day two, with Kane Williamson also at the crease on 7.

Conway resumed on day two on 178, and started the day by pushing Anderson Phillip for a powerful cover drive to the boundary for four.

The previous day he brought up his sixth Test century during New Zealand's second-largest opening wicket partnership alongside Tom Latham, the pair combining for 323 runs before Latham was removed for 137 with four overs remaining in the day.

Conway on Thursday said he was embracing the words of his idol, former South Africa opener Neil McKenzie, who told him "you never have enough".

"That's something that he mentioned to me a long time ago that I've tried to pride myself whenever I get in, cash in to do a significant job for the team," Conway said.

Conway scored 200 on Test debut against England at Lords in 2021.

He would now be eyeing up his mentor's highest Test score of 226.

The highest score in New Zealand Test history was that of Brendon McCullum, who made 302 against India at the Basin Reserve in 2014.
