Shamsunnahar Jr emerges most valuable player in WFL

DHAKA, Feb 14, 2026 (BSS)- Shamsunnahar Jr of Farashganj Sporting Club has been named the most valuable player of the Women's Football League (WFL) concluded at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city's Kamalapur on Friday night.

Shamsunnahar also received cash award of Taka 50,000. 
National team goalkeeper Rupna Chakma was named the league's best goalkeeper after showing a brilliant performance under the bar for champions Rajshahi Stars Football Club throughout the league. 

Alpi Akhter of Rajshahi Stars was recognized as the highest scorer in the league. Alpi has also become the highest scorer in the domestic league. She scored a total of 29 goals for Rajshahi Stars and also received the Golden Boot.

The best player and best goalkeeper both received a cash award of Taka 50,000 each.

Earlier, Rajshahi Stars Football Club emerged champions in the league while old Dhaka outfit Farashganj Sporting Club finished as runners-up. 

Mahfuza Akhter Kiran, head of Bangladesh Football Federation's women's wing and BFF vice president Fahad Karim distributed the prizes.
