DHAKA, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS)- International Master (IM) Monon Reza Neer and IM Md. Minhaj Uddin advanced to the semifinals of the Spectrum Bangladesh National Cup Chess eliminating their respective rivals in the tie-breaking play off matches held at hall room of Bangladesh Chess Federation today. 

The winners were decided in the tie-break play-off after the quarter-finals between IM Manon Reja Neer and IM Abu Sufian Shakil and IM Md Minhaz Uddin and FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, both ended in a 1-1 draw.

In tie-breaking matches, IM Md Minhaz Uddin defeated FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman by 2-0 game points while IM Manon Reja Neer defeated IM Abu Sufian Shakil by 1.5-0.5 game point.

Meanwhile, the semi finals will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at the same venue.
