Four players share lead in Int'l Chess tournament

DHAKA, March 5, 2026 (BSS) - Four  players shared lead in the points table with maximum four points after fourth round of the Manha’s Castle 28th International Chess tournament held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room today (Thursday).

They are FIDE Master Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Ananta Choudhury, FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain, Candidate Master Md. Jamal Uddin and Awsaf Chowdhury. 

Three players shared the second position with 3.5 points. They are Afnan Zarif Haque, Candidate Master (CM) Avik Sarkar and Anat Chowdhury. 

In the day’s fourth round matches, FM Md Sharif Hossain defeated FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid, CM Md. Jamal Uddin defeated FM Subrota Biswas, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed, Ananta Choudhury CM Avik Sarker, Awsaf Chowdhury defeated CM Md. Masum Hossain, Afnan Zarif Haque defeated Afzal Hossain Sacchu, Radmim Raha Rajya drew with CM Sohel Chowdhury, Md Biddut Sarker drew with WFM Warsia Khusbu and CM S M Sharon defeated Md Anisujjaman Mullick.
