Fortis earn sixth win in BFL

DHAKA, March 7, 2026 (BSS)- Ten men Fortis Football Club (FC) registered their sixth win in  Bangladesh Football League (BFL) beating defending champions Mohammedan Sporting Club by 2-1 goals held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla today.

In the day’s match, Gambian midfielder Essa Jallow  struck twice for Fortis who led the first half by 1-0 goal. Uzbek midfielder Muzaffarjon Muzaffar netted a lone goal for Mohammedan,

Essa Jallow put Fortis ahead scoring the first goal in the 20th minute and after the break he doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 51st minute of the match.

Muzaffar reduced the margin scoring a lone goal for Mohammedan in the 64th minute.

Hasan Jummon of Fortis was shown direct red card by the referee in the 63rd minute.

With second-placed, Fortis FC improved their tally with 21 points, (equal with league leader Bashundhara Kings), from ten matches while the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan, standing sixth position in the table, remained with their previous collection of ten points playing the same number of matches.
