Bangladesh reach final in compound men's team event

DHAKA, March 25, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh entered the gold medal race by reaching final of the compound men's team event of the "2026 Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament, Stage-1" in Bangkok, Thailand today (Wednesday).

In the final, Bangladesh archery team comprising Himu Bachar, Aisharzo Rahman and Newaz Ahmed Rakib beat Bhutan by 232-228 points (60-57, 119-115, 176-171) in the semifinal.

Bangladesh will now face Vietnam in the gold deciding final match on Friday (March 27).

In the recurve men's team event, Bangladesh lost to Kazakhstan by 6-0 set in the quarterfinal while in the compound women's team event, Bangladesh lost to Thailand by 229-230 points in the quarterfinal.

In the compound men's singles event, Bangladesh's archer Himu Bachar lost to his Indian rival Uday Kamboj 146-147 in the quarterfinal.
