DHAKA, March 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh national team will officially kick off their preparations for the upcoming home series against New Zealand on March 27.

New Zealand are scheduled to tour Bangladesh in April, featuring three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The visitors will open the tour with the ODI series, with the first two matches set to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on April 17 and 20. The teams will then travel to Chattogram for the third and final ODI on April 23.

The T20I series will begin in the port city, with the first two matches slated for April 27 and 29. The third and final T20I will be held in Dhaka on May 2.

However, Bangladesh will start their preparation camp without six regular players-Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, Mustafizur Rahman, and Parvez Hossain Emon-who will be participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which begins on March 26.

Ahead of the series, head coach Phil Simmons, outgoing selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, and newly appointed chief selector Habibul Bashar Sumon have already held discussions regarding team strategy.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), the country's premier four-day domestic competition, will commence on April 21 during the New Zealand series. The tournament is expected to serve as key preparation for Bangladesh's two-match Test series against Pakistan in June.
