DHAKA, Apr 25, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh women’s kabaddi team continued their impressive run in the Asian Beach Games Kabaddi event securing a commanding victory over Chinese Taipei in their second group-stage match held in Sanya, China today (Saturday).

After starting their campaign with a win against Thailand, the Bangladesh women maintained their momentum and outclassed Chinese Taipei by a huge margin of 59–20, confirming their place in the last four along with at least a bronze medal.

From the beginning, Bangladesh dominated the match with high intensity and strong coordination. Although the first half saw some resistance from Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh led comfortably 25–11 at halftime. In the second half, the Bangladesh side stepped up their performance, overwhelming their opponents with continuous raids and solid defensive play.

The victory not only ensured a semi-final berth but also boosted the team’s confidence after back-to-back dominant performances in the group stage.

Earlier, in the opening match, Bangladesh defeated Thailand by 51–34, establishing themselves as strong contenders in the tournament.

With qualification secured, Bangladesh will now meet Nepal in their final group-stage match tomorrow (Sunday) to decide the group champion.

Meanwhile, it was another disappointing day for the Bangladesh men’s kabaddi team, who suffered their second consecutive defeat.

After losing to Pakistan in their opening match, they went down against Iran by 47–31, struggling to match their opponents’ pace and execution.

Despite the setback for the men’s team, Bangladesh’s women continue to shine on the international stage, keeping medal hopes high for the country in the Asian Beach Games.
