DHAKA, May 19, 2026 (BSS) – The “Cadets Squash League, season-2 will be held on Friday (May 22) at the Bashundhara Sports City in the capital.

Around fifty former cadets from twelve cadet colleges across the country are expected to participate in the day-long competition. Female cadets will also compete alongside male participants in this year’s edition.

According to the organisers, although the inaugural edition of the tournament was held at the Dhaka Club last year, season-02 will be organized on a much larger scale with nearly double the number of participants.

The tournament is being organised by the Cadet Squash Fraternity with support from the Bangladesh Squash Federation. Bashundhara Sports City is serving as the venue partner, while Marks Medical College is the title sponsor.

Featuring former cadets from all twelve cadet colleges in the country, the tournament aims to provide participants with an opportunity to showcase their sporting excellence through competitive squash matches.

Organizers believe the event will further promote the values of discipline, endurance and camaraderie developed during cadet life. They also said such initiatives would play an important role in strengthening institutional cooperation and partnerships in Bangladesh’s sporting arena.

GM Quamrul Islam, the general secretary of the Bangladesh Squash Federation, said that besides providing healthy entertainment through sports, talented cadets could play a significant role in revitalizing squash, which is currently a struggling sport in Bangladesh.
