August martyred Hasan buried after 6 months in Bhola

BHOLA, Feb 15, 2025(BSS) - Md Hasan, who embraced martyrdom on August 5, was buried after more than six months at his village graveyard under Bhola Sadar after at a Namaj-e-Janaza at Shamadar High School ground here this morning.


 Coordinators of Anti-Discrimination Students’ Movement, Bhola district unit, students, relatives and well-wishers and people from all walks of life attended the Janaza.
Md Monir Hossain, father of Hasan told the journalists that he (Hasan) was an employee of an Embroidery shop in Dhaka’s Gulistan area joined the anti-discrimination students’ movement during the July-August uprising.

He was shot dead by police on August 5 and sent the body to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) along with other unidentified bodies.

But, Hasan’s family failed to trace him in various places of the capital for long. Lastly in January, they traced Hasan’s body from several unidentified bodies at DMCH morgue. The hospital authority then collected samples for testing the DNA of Monir and his mother Golenur Begum.

On February 13, the concerned authorities confirmed the family that it was Hasan’s body. On February 14, the body was handed over to the family of Hasan and his first Namaj-e-Janaza was held in front of Raju Memorial on Dhaka University campus after Jumma prayer.
Hasan hailed from Shamadar village under ward number- 3 of Kachia union council in Bhola Sadar upazila.

The parents of Hasan told BSS that they could identity their son after witnessing video footage after the fall of the fascist Sheikh Hasina’s government on August 5 when police was carrying some bodies by a van.

We wanted to get back our son alive but lastly we got his body, they said adding that the family after losing their only bread earner became helpless.

The leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement brought out a procession in the town demandeding immediate trial of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. They also demanded the government to ban the Awami League as a political party.
