THAKURGAON, June 3, 2025 (BSS)- A festive atmosphere enveloped today in Thakurgaon as the synchronized Boro paddy harvesting festival commenced across 50 acres of land, benefiting 44 farmers.
This innovative farming approach, designed to promote the use of modern agricultural machinery, overcome labor shortages and enhance overall efficiency, was officially launched by Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana.
The harvesting began with a paddy harvester in Laskara Chowdhury Para village under Gariya Union of Sadar Upazila. The 50 acres of land, cultivated by 44 farmers, were part of a government agricultural incentive program that promoted synchronized farming practices.
The event featured a farmers' rally led by District Agricultural Extension Department Deputy Director Majedul Islam.
Special guests included Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Khairul Islam, District Training Officer Shamima Nazneen, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Nasirul Alam, as well as local representatives and farmers.
Farmers expressed great satisfaction with the new methods, emphasizing advantages such as tray seedbed preparation, use of rice transplanters, coordinated crop management and faster, easier harvesting thanks to mechanization.
They also reported a significant increase in crop yields.
Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana, praised the initiative for its positive impact.
She emphasized that this synchronized cultivation method serves as a model for future collective agricultural endeavors, calling it a testament to the success of government incentives and congratulating the participating farmers.
