13,000 coconut saplings distributed among farmers in Narail

NARAIL, June 30, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 13,000 coconut saplings have been distributed among farmers of three upazilas recently under the agricultural incentive programme, aimed at increasing coconut production in the district.

According to the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), of the total saplings, 6,200 were distributed free of cost in Sadar upazila, 3,400 in Lohagara upazila, and 3,400 in Kalia upazila to boost coconut cultivation and production during the Kharif-2 season of the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Deputy Director of DAE Md Jasim Uddin said the demand for coconuts, including green coconuts, has increased significantly. In an effort to boost production, free saplings were distributed among farmers in the district.
