French economy shrank 0.1 percent in fourth quarter

 PARIS, Jan 30, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The French economy grew 1.1 percent in 2024 but contracted in the final three months of the year following a boost from the Paris Olympic Games, official data showed Thursday.

The eurozone's second biggest economy contracted by 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter after growing by 0.4 percent in the preceding three-month period, the INSEE statistics institute said.
