DHAKA, Feb 27, 2025 (BSS) - Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong has visited ICC Bangladesh and held a meeting with its President Mahbubur Rahman and the Executive Board members.
They discussed about strengthening cooperation between ICC Bangladesh and ADB, building on their long standing partnership.
Welcoming ADB Country Director Jeong at the ICC Bangladesh on February 24, ICC Bangladesh President Mahbubur Rahman said that ADB has been actively supporting ICC Bangladesh in its various activities for the last several years, said a press release today.
ADB's engagement dates back to 2000 when its the then-President, Tadao Chino, attended the ICC Asia Conference on 'Investment in Developing Countries: Increasing Opportunities' held in Dhaka.
Since 2015, ADB, through its Trade and Supply Chain Finance Programme (TSCFP), has been collaborating with ICC Bangladesh to organize a series of workshops and conferences.
ICCB President Mahbubur Rahman expressed appreciation for ADB's continued support to Bangladesh and emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in fostering economic growth.
ADB Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong reiterated ADB's commitment to supporting Bangladesh in its journey towards sustainable development. He mentioned that ADB will continue to work with ICC Bangladesh in expanding future collaborations, particularly in areas such as trade digitalization, financial accessibility, and sustainable business practices.
The meeting was attended by ICC Bangladesh Vice Presidents A. K. Azad and Naser Ezaz Bijoy and Executive Board Members - Abdul Hai Sarker, Anwar-ul-Alam Chowdhury (Parvez), Md. Fazlul Hoque, Mir Nasir Hossain, Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Pavel); Mohammad Hatem and Simeen Rahman; DBL Group Managing Director Mohammed Abdul Jabbar, ICCB Secretary General Ataur Rahman, Senior Investment Officer of ADB Bidyut Kumar Saha and ICCB General Manager Ajay B. Saha.
