Bangladesh receives $814.29m in remittance in 8-day of March

DHAKA, Mar 10, 2025 (BSS) - Expatriate Bangladeshis sent over $814.29 million in remittance during the first eight days of March in the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Of this, remittances through state-owned and specialised banks accounted for $299.80 million, while private banks received $512.94 million, according to Bangladesh Bank (BB) data released today.

Six state--owned commercial banks - Agrani, Janata, Rupali, Sonali, Basic and BDBL - received $231.35 million while one state-owned specialized bank- Bangladesh Krishi Bank- received $68.45 million.

The highest $160.13 million in remittance came to the country through Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd.
