DHAKA, March 18, 2025 (BSS) - The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has reduced import duties on fresh fruits by 15 percent.

To this end, the revenue board issued two notifications on March 16 and another one on March 10, said a NBR press release on Monday night.

According to the press release, NBR has issued two new notifications reducing the supplementary duty imposed at the import stage from 30 percent to 25 percent and completely exempting the 5 percent advance tax imposed at the import stage.

In addition, NBR issued a notification on March 10, reducing the existing advance income tax rate on fruit imports from 10 percent to 5 percent.

NBR said they took the initiatives for keeping the price of fresh fruits within the purchasing range of the common people during the holy month of Ramadan.
