FRANKFURT, Germany, March 27, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The European Union must "respond firmly" to US import tariffs on cars announced by President Donald Trump, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said Thursday.

"It must be clear that we will not give in to the US. We need to show strength and self-confidence," Habeck said, denouncing the tariffs as "bad news for German carmakers, for the German economy, for the EU, but also for the US".
