GENEVA, Aug 7, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Switzerland's federal government will hold an "extraordinary meeting" Thursday, following the return of officials from Washington where they had tried to convince Donald Trump not to impose punitive tariffs on Swiss goods.

"Tariffs: After its delegation returns from the USA, the Federal Council will hold an extraordinary meeting in the early afternoon. A statement will follow after the meeting," the government posted on X.
